Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct PLC/DCS programming, troubleshooting, and code optimization for Siemens PCS7 and S7-1200/1500 systems
• Perform hands-on field testing of I/O signals, PID loop tuning, and VFD parameter configuration
• Establish and configure industrial communication protocols and data links between process systems and third-party units
• Define technical requirements for outsourced modifications and lead Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT)
• Support the installation and commissioning phase on the shop floor to ensure seamless technical handover to operations

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of industrial automation experience in heavy industry, chemical, or highly automated manufacturing environments
• Deep practical expertise with Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal
• Strong understanding of OT network architectures and industrial protocols such as Profinet, Modbus, and OPC UA
• Proven ability to independently resolve complex control loops, drive faults, and communication network issues
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Finnish or Chinese is a strong advantage
