Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the central point of contact for all automation technology topics at the site
• Initiate and independently lead technical investment and optimization projects
• Plan, provide, and operate OT (Operational Technology) applications, including SCADA, MES, and process data acquisition systems
• Design, conceptualize, and network individual components and plant parts into complex automation systems
• Monitor, maintain, and update systems to ensure current software versions and security standards
• Ensure compliance with local technical/legal regulations and company guidelines regarding Process Control Technology and OT Security
• Collaborate interdisciplinary with the technical, IT, and production departments
• Conduct user training and provide 2nd-level support for PCT and OT issues

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Information Technology, Robotics, or equivalent technical training with several years of experience
• Deep knowledge of production IT, including network structures, application concepts, and database systems
• Hands-on experience with Simatic S7 (PLC), WinCC (Visualization), and fieldbus technologies (Profibus and Profinet)
• Proficiency in IT networking and server technology (PC, Server, Network)
• Experience in project management or leading maintenance projects for machines and plants
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
• Fluency in German and good proficiency in English
