Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs
• Develop and maintain control systems, including SCADA and DCS
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce costs and improve quality
• Support the commissioning, installation, and testing of new equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and production
• Document automation processes, system configurations, and procedures
• Analyze system performance data to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field)
• 3+ years of professional experience in a related field
• Proven experience with control systems, automation systems, and robotics
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics platforms such as Fanuc or Yaskawa
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT, and data analytics
• Experience with vision systems and machine learning applications
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency with CAD, SolidWorks, or Creo software
