Automation & Digitalization Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and debug PLC programs, HMIs, and robot controller code to align with site standards.
• Own the full code lifecycle, including backups, versioning, validation, and controlled deployment.
• Integrate and validate electrical controls components such as sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Implement robotics solutions across various platforms including Omron, ABB, and FANUC.
• Execute commissioning plans and equipment runoff to verify safety interlocks, alarms, and HMI usability.
• Provide troubleshooting support for hardware-software integration and HMI issues to minimize downtime.
• Support digitalization initiatives by implementing machine data capture and SQL/database tracking for OEE.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 10+ years of experience with an Electrical degree.
• Proficiency in Omron Sysmac programming.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix.
• Strong HMI development and debugging skills (e.g., Omron NA, PanelView).
• Solid understanding of industrial networking fundamentals (e.g., Ethernet/IP).
• Hands-on experience with robotics integration and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in OEM or system integrator environments.
• Familiarity with IEC 61131 concepts.
• Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as SQL, Visual Basic, or Python.
• Experience with factory or site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT).
