Automation Controls and Robotics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate automation and robotics activities including systems fabrication and mechanical assembly
• Write, test, and troubleshoot control logic for PLC control systems
• Develop algorithms and programming for industrial robots
• Study workflows and processes to identify and implement automation opportunities
• Maintain PLC systems throughout the plant and ensure documentation is accurate
• Participate in the selection of automation and robotic vendors and equipment
• Conduct studies to maximize robot utilization
• Provide technical automation support to other plants, requiring approximately 10-20% domestic travel

Requirements

• 1-3 years of automated manufacturing engineering experience
• Proven experience working in an automated, robotics environment
• In-depth understanding of PLC, VSD, SCADA, and HMI
• Ability to write control logic for PLC systems
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (no visa sponsorship available)

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferred
• Experience with hard-goods manufacturing, specifically with steel or steel parts
