About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face instruction for the Industrial Maintenance short-term certificate program at London Correctional in London, Ohio.
- Teach curriculum developed by the department, planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning.
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing available instructional technology to meet diverse student needs.
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in electronics engineering, electronics engineering technology, or a related area; OR
- High school diploma with at least five years of experience in a field specifically related to the course to be taught; OR
- An active journeyman's card.
- Must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky to comply with employment and tax requirements.
- Ability to work within a correctional facility environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience.
- Ability to teach courses in robotics and/or controls.
- Industry experience in automation or control technology.
- Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction.
