About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face instruction for the Industrial Maintenance short-term certificate program at London Correctional in London, Ohio.
  • Teach curriculum developed by the department, planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning.
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing instructional technology to meet diverse student needs.
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electronics engineering, electronics engineering technology, or a related field; OR
  • High school diploma plus five years of experience in a field specifically related to the course to be taught; OR
  • An active journeyman's card.
  • Must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky (or be able to perform work within one of these states).
  • Ability to work within a correctional facility environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience.
  • Ability to teach courses in robotics and/or controls.
  • Industry experience in automation or control technology.
  • Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction.
