Authorization Specialist/Head

Responsibilities

• Manage patient referrals and verify insurance eligibility
• Obtain prior authorizations and Letters of Authorization (LOA)
• Track authorization status and follow up on pending requests
• Enter patient and insurance information into the billing system
• Maintain up-to-date records of referrals and eligibility checks
• Act as a liaison between the billing team, providers, and insurance companies
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data security policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• Minimum 10 years of experience in medical billing, intake, or insurance verification
• Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and authorizations
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
• Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with prior authorization processes
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Valid U.S. visa
