Authorization and Benefits Specialist

Responsibilities

• Complete benefit checks and interpret deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket details
• Manage authorizations, pre-auth rules, and visit-limit tracking
• Monitor referrals and ensure all requirements are met
• Use major payer portals (Availity, UHC, Cigna, Aetna) for verification and submissions
• Track and monitor authorizations and communicate benefit details
• Monitor front office collections performance and perform audits for accuracy

Requirements

• Previous experience in healthcare, medical office, or insurance verification
• Working knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and insurance portals
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
