Audit Supervisor

About the Company

The New York City Comptroller’s Office works to promote the financial health, integrity, and effectiveness of New York City government. The Audit Bureau conducts informative and meaningful audits, independent assessments, and objective reviews to examine and report on City operations and services to increase transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the activities of auditors assigned to multiple simultaneous engagements
• Lead and support 2 to 3 teams ensuring application of GAGAS audit standards
• Manage team assignments, performance evaluations, and professional development
• Design and modify audit plans to meet objectives and deliver impactful results
• Review and correct work products, work papers, and data analysis performed by staff
• Ensure findings are supported by logical analysis and persuasive evidence
• Oversee survey and testing processes to ensure compliance with GAGAS mandates
• Draft portions of Exit Conference Summaries based on approved finding sheets
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment through coaching and mentoring

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree with 24 credits in auditing, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, law, or related field
• One year of full-time experience in performance, financial, internal, or IT auditing according to GAGAS
• OR a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• OR a valid Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Management Auditor - Assignment I
• Two years of experience in performance, internal, financial, or IT auditing according to GAGAS
