Audio Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and tune a robust end-to-end audio pipeline for noisy real-world environments
• Implement DSP components under tight resource constraints including filtering, AGC/DRC, noise suppression, VAD, and echo control
• Define objective metrics and build repeatable evaluation and regression testing harnesses
• Debug audio issues across the full stack using instrumentation, logs, profiling, and lab equipment
• Work with cloud/ML engineers to enable audio-based intelligence via processing pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage trade-offs between quality, latency, compute, power, and complexity

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping embedded audio systems or major audio subsystems into production
• Strong fundamentals in audio/DSP and hands-on tuning experience
• Strong coding skills in C/C++ with comfort in real-time and performance-constrained environments
• Practical experience using Python for analysis, benchmarking, and evaluation tooling
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Hardware-adjacent experience (I2S, ADC/DAC, DMA, SPI/I2C/UART)
• Experience with microphone/speaker component selection or acoustic/mechanical constraints
• Experience with audio measurement techniques and repeatable evaluation methodologies
• Experience with always-on/low-power detection or audio classification
• Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Experience with audio frameworks such as GStreamer, WebRTC, or SpeexDSP
