Attorney/Referee

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal hearings within the family division of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court
• Recommend decisions as authorized by statute and court rules
• Perform legal research and analysis to remain current on laws affecting the family division
• Work closely with an assigned judge to support judicial functions
• Plan and execute legal methodologies with considerable latitude and responsibility for results

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible related legal experience
• Active membership in the State Bar Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the practice of law specifically focusing on delinquency
• Experience in child abuse and neglect cases
• Experience in domestic relations law
