Attorney III

Responsibilities

• Prosecute or defend civil and criminal cases of moderate difficulty and complexity in Justice and Superior Courts
• Review legal cases to determine if sufficient cause exists to prosecute
• Advise law enforcement officers, witnesses, and County departments, boards, and commissions on legal matters
• File complaints on misdemeanor and felony cases, including first-degree murder cases involving the death penalty
• Conduct legal research using computerized tools and prepare necessary court documents
• Obtain and review source documents such as police reports, medical records, and transcripts
• Locate and interview witnesses and participate in court appearances and legal proceedings
• Handle adoption petitions, condemnation proceedings, and complex administrative or civil law matters

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Current membership in the State Bar of Arizona
• Five years of applicable legal experience
