About the role
Responsibilities
- Prosecute or defend civil and criminal cases of moderate difficulty and complexity in Justice and Superior Courts
- Review legal cases to determine if sufficient cause exists to prosecute
- Advise law enforcement officers, witnesses, and County departments, boards, and commissions on legal matters
- File complaints on misdemeanor and felony cases, including first-degree murder cases involving the death penalty
- Conduct legal research using computerized tools and prepare necessary court documents
- Obtain and review source documents such as police reports, medical records, and transcripts
- Locate and interview witnesses and participate in court appearances and legal proceedings
- Handle adoption petitions, condemnation proceedings, and complex administrative or civil law matters
Requirements
