About the role
Responsibilities
- Review legal cases to determine if sufficient cause exists to prosecute
- Prosecute or defend cases in Justice Courts
- Advise law enforcement officers and witnesses regarding legal procedures
- Confer with clients to advise on legal rights, courses of action, and case strength
- Conduct legal research using computerized tools
- Prepare and file necessary court documents and complaints
- Obtain and review source documents including police reports, medical records, and transcripts
- Locate and interview witnesses
- Attend and participate in court appearances and legal proceedings
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Current membership in the State Bar of Arizona
- Knowledge of Arizona justice system principles, statutes, and legal precedents
- Skill in legal research and word processing
- Ability to render logical, clear, and effective legal arguments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
