About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist administration in monitoring school attendance compliance and investigating violations of compulsory attendance laws.
- Enforce attendance requirements by filing complaints with the Justice of the Peace when necessary.
- Communicate with parents via telephone or home visits regarding student absences and tardiness.
- Conduct home visits to verify proof of residency, HOST, POA, and Grandparent Care Affidavits.
- Maintain detailed student files documenting home visits, residency checks, and conference notes.
- Collaborate with campus attendance clerks and administration to increase Average Daily Attendance (ADA).
- Review six-week attendance reports and submit required documentation to the Office of Admissions, Attendance and Dropout Recovery.
- Assist in monitoring student withdrawals and performing investigative follow-up actions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Proof of Liability Insurance (must be submitted with application).
- Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills.
- Ability to use mobile radio, computers, printers, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 30 college hours.
- 2 to 3 years of experience working in a school environment.
