Attendance Officer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and development of attendance and punctuality policies
• Perform daily monitoring and follow-up of student attendance and punctuality
• Contact parents and carers regarding student absences and record reasons for absence
• Conduct home visits in coordination with the Academy welfare manager as required
• Ensure the smooth operation and accurate data entry of the computerized registration system
• Liaise with the Educational Welfare Officer to ensure rigorous intervention for poor attendance
• Monitor student attendance in relation to individual progress and performance targets
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding student welfare

Requirements

• Degree standard qualification or equivalent
• Three years of experience working in an inner-city school or educational establishment
• Proven experience managing attendance systems and using Management Information Systems (MIS)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft software
• In-depth knowledge of attendance policies, procedures, and attendance codes
• Experience working with young people, including those with challenging behaviour
• Experience meeting with parents and carers in both formal and informal settings
