Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head Athletic Trainer to manage and provide athletic training services for student-athletes.
• Provide immediate emergency medical attention and make critical decisions regarding athlete safety.
• Evaluate injuries and provide treatment and rehabilitation services as referred by the team physician.
• Develop and implement rehabilitative programs to facilitate a safe return to play, including post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate, precise, and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
• Identify and correct common risk factors to prevent injuries among student-athletes.
• Attend practices and home games for assigned teams, including occasional travel to away games.
• Assist with pre-participation screenings, concussion baseline testing, and maintaining medical supplies.
• Educate student-athletes on issues concerning physical and mental health and well-being.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NATABOC Certification or eligibility to receive certification within 3 months of hire.
• NC State Athletic Trainer Licensure or eligibility to receive licensure within 3 months of hire.
• CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in Athletic Training at the College or University level.
• Current NC State Athletic Trainer License.
• Current NATABOC Certification.
