About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and deliver medical treatment and rehabilitation programs for student-athletes as prescribed by sports medicine physicians.
- Evaluate athletes' physical conditions and progress, maintaining detailed documentation and communicating status updates to coaches and medical staff.
- Provide on-site athletic training coverage for designated sports, including football and cheer, for practices, home contests, and away travel.
- Administer first aid and provide medical emergency coverage during athletic events.
- Supervise and educate athletic training students in a clinical setting.
- Maintain direct contact and interface with physicians, coaching staff, strength and conditioning staff, and parents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and two years of hands-on experience, or a Master's degree with related experience.
- Board of Certification (BOC) certification through the National Athletic Trainers Association.
- Eligibility for Delaware State Athletic Training licensure.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Instructor certification for CPR/AED and First Aid.
- Experience serving as an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) for students in a CAATE accredited program.
