Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Provide prevention, recognition, evaluation, and management of injuries and illnesses for student-athletes
• Develop and implement injury rehabilitation and therapeutic treatment regimens
• Coordinate with strength and conditioning coaches to assist with conditioning programs
• Maintain comprehensive medical records using EMR systems, including SOAP notes and injury reports
• Assist with facility maintenance, equipment inventory, and day-to-day athletic training room operations
• Provide clinical supervision and instruction for Master of Athletic Training (MAT) students
• Serve as a communication liaison between physicians, athletes, parents, and coaching staff
• Ensure coverage for practices, conditioning sessions, and athletic games

Requirements

• Current Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Athletic Training License (or eligibility to apply)
• National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) BOC credential
• Minimum of 1 year of athletic training experience in a high school, clinic, or collegiate setting
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• Valid Driver’s license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR software

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a college/university or professional athletic setting
• Understanding of NCAA Division I rules and standards
