Athletic Facility Assistant

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility access by checking membership and student ID cards to ensure building security and safety.
• Conduct regular walk-throughs of indoor and outdoor facilities, locker rooms, and public areas to identify maintenance or safety issues.
• Provide high-standard customer service by responding to inquiries regarding schedules, memberships, and facility services.
• Manage equipment and inventory, including issuing towels, keys, and athletic gear to authorized users.
• Perform laundry duties, including operating commercial washers and dryers and handling cleaning agents safely.
• Set up and dismantle equipment for various programs, such as audiovisual gear, tables, chairs, and sports apparatus.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and perform light housekeeping and minor maintenance on fitness equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid in accordance with established safety procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of one year of related experience in a customer service-oriented role.
• Valid Standard First Aid, AED, and CPR certification (must be completed within the probationary period).
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, moving equipment, and performing laundry duties.
• Strong communication and conflict management skills, with the ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.
