Athletic Facility Assistant

Responsibilities

• Ensure building security and safety by checking membership cards, monitoring facilities, and performing regular walk-throughs of locker rooms and public areas.
• Respond to emergency first aid situations and assist with building evacuations as required.
• Provide high-quality customer service by managing equipment/towel counters, answering inquiries, and resolving member complaints.
• Manage laundry operations, including operating commercial machines, sorting, folding, and maintaining inventory of linens and chemicals.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and perform light housekeeping, including cleaning lockers and sanitizing fitness equipment.
• Assist with facility setup and dismantling for various programs, including moving furniture and setting up audiovisual equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs for inventory, equipment maintenance, key sign-outs, and incident reporting.

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service-oriented role.
• Valid Standard First Aid, AED, and CPR certification (must be completed within the probationary period).
• Basic computer skills and the ability to perform manual tasks and physical functional requirements of the position.
• Strong communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions and work effectively within a team.
