Athletic Academic Tutor

Responsibilities

• Provide academic tutoring to assigned student-athletes through one-on-one or small group sessions
• Maintain a regular tutoring schedule throughout the semester, including during final exam weeks
• Complete required documentation for each session using the Teamworks Academics system
• Attend mandatory Academic Enhancement Center (AEC) training sessions at the beginning of the semester
• Communicate regularly with AEC staff regarding student-athlete academic progress and tutoring procedures
• Adhere to all AEC policies, Samford University rules, and NCAA and Southern Conference regulations
• Serve as an appropriate academic and personal role model for student-athletes

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum sophomore standing in college
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain academic integrity and follow strict regulatory guidelines
• Availability to work flexible hours based on the center's schedule (including evenings and Sundays)

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of course content in subjects intended for tutoring
• Previous experience taking relevant courses at Samford University
