Athlete Academic Support and Retention Student Assistant

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record attendance for student-athlete study sessions to ensure a productive learning environment
• Provide peer academic support, time management strategies, and encouragement to student-athletes
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing academic workshops and recognition events
• Support the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services and Retention with clerical tasks, scheduling, data entry, and social media
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to FERPA regulations regarding student records

Requirements

• Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in good standing
• Minimum sophomore standing
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a student-athlete or in a student support/service role
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
• Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations related to academic eligibility
