Associate Vice Provost for Academic Program Development

About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct labor market, competitor, and student demand analyses to identify new academic program opportunities.
- Lead the development of concept papers, business plans, and academic program proposals for internal and external approval.
- Collaborate with faculty to design curricula, learning outcomes, program structures, and assessment plans.
- Research and document programmatic accreditation and licensure requirements for new academic programs.
- Prepare materials required for Higher Learning Commission (HLC) substantive change requests and ongoing compliance.
- Build partnerships with healthcare organizations, clinical sites, industry partners, and community agencies.
- Serve as project lead for new program initiatives from initial planning through launch, coordinating across deans, faculty, and administrative offices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a healthcare field, higher education, educational leadership, public health, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in academic program development, accreditation, curriculum design, or higher education administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic governance processes and institutional curricular approval workflows.
- Familiarity with regional accreditation standards, preferably the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in a healthcare or education-related field.
- Experience with discipline-specific healthcare accrediting bodies (e.g., CCNE, ARCPA, CAEP, CAAHEP, or CAPTE).
- Experience conducting market research or environmental scanning.
- Knowledge of Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) statewide approval processes.
- Experience with partnership development in healthcare sectors.
