About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multibillion-dollar, complex capital projects from site acquisition and government negotiations through operational verification.
- Manage a staff of exempt-level employees, including workload assignments, development plans, and compensation reviews.
- Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans to ensure compliance for all project personnel and contractors.
- Communicate effectively with governance teams, business partners, and stakeholders to align project delivery with business objectives.
- Represent Lilly values to external partners and the community while fostering a positive culture on worksites.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost, schedule, and quality throughout all delivery stages.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience successfully delivering multibillion-dollar projects from inception to completion.
- Proven experience managing greenfield projects.
- Willingness to relocate and travel internationally (approximately 15% to 30%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in disciplines such as Automation, construction quality, project controls, safety, and scheduling.
- Multibillion-dollar project management experience specifically within manufacturing facilities (e.g., Bulk API, sterile products, or devices).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent technical certification.
- Competency in one or more foreign languages.
- Demonstrated ability to influence organizations and personnel without direct administrative responsibility.
