About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for several private venture capital funds
- Assist with the preparation of US GAAP financial statements for quarterly and annual reporting
- Review quarterly NAV packages from fund administrators
- Manage the quarterly close process, including account balance reconciliations and workpapers
- Oversee daily cash activities, including payment processing, invoice coding, and general ledger posting
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, fund administrators, and auditors to meet all deadlines
- Provide detailed reporting to investors, portfolio managers, and internal constituents
- Manage compliance reporting, including Form PF and ADV
- Contribute to process improvements to ensure scalability and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6-9 years of experience in fund accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles for financial instruments
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, macros)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Public accounting experience, specifically with Big 4 firms
- Direct industry experience within venture capital
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Alteryx, or Anaplan
