Associate Vice President - Credit

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a bi-locational team of credit analysts across the UAE and India.
• Act as the primary gate for enterprise loan applications, evaluating credit profiles against partner lender Business Rules Engine (BRE) parameters.
• Own the quality of Credit Appraisal Memoranda (CAMs), ensuring comprehensive financial analysis, risk commentary, and deal structuring.
• Serve as the primary credit interface for partner banks and financial institutions, managing relationships and responding to due diligence queries.
• Act as an in-house credit advisor to Relationship Managers, guiding deal structuring and identifying potential red flags.
• Manage the end-to-end deal lifecycle from sanction to disbursement, coordinating with legal, operations, and compliance teams.
• Develop and refine internal assessment frameworks and underwriting checklists to improve conversion rates and reduce turnaround time.

Requirements

• 8–14 years of credit underwriting experience in commercial and corporate banking within the UAE.
• At least 3 years of experience in a senior or team-lead role.
• Demonstrable expertise in SME, Commercial, and Corporate credit products, including term loans, working capital, trade finance, and structured debt.
• Proven track record of CAM preparation and presenting to credit committees.
• Experience working within a UAE/GCC banking institution or managing lender relationships in the region.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA, CFA, or MBA (Finance) certification.
• Prior exposure to fintech lending platforms, marketplaces, or debt distribution businesses.
• Familiarity with CBUAE / Central Bank of UAE credit regulations and documentation standards.
• Experience interpreting multi-lender BRE or credit policy frameworks in a platform context.
