Associate Vice President, Compliance Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of compliance for the FME entity in GIFT City, ensuring adherence to IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, circulars, and guidelines.
• Act as the primary point of contact with the IFSCA for all regulatory matters, inspections, and correspondence.
• Handle regulatory filings for the GIFT City entity, including disclosure documents for new products.
• Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures in alignment with Ares global and regional internal processes.
• Identify and advise on regulatory changes and assist in their implementation.
• Undertake compliance control functions and monitoring programs, including the development of trackers and reports.
• Provide compliance training to GIFT City and other Ares employees.
• Provide compliance support for other Ares business operations in India.

Requirements

• 9-13 years of experience in a compliance role within a regulated financial institution, preferably in asset management.
• Proven experience establishing and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies such as IFSCA, SEBI, or other Indian regulators.
• Solid understanding of Indian financial industry practices and experience filing various regulatory reports.
• High degree of fluency in English with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional qualifications such as LLB, CA, CS, or CFA.
• Basic understanding of financial statements for financial instruments business operators.
