About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
- Utilize a problem-based approach to develop diagnostic plans and appropriate treatments.
- Document all patient observations, findings, treatments, and client interactions in concise medical records.
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
- Perform routine and complex dental procedures, including examinations, radiographs, and extractions.
- Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
- Participate in clinical rounds and disseminate medical knowledge to hospital staff.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active state veterinarian licensure (or ability to obtain by start date).
- Current DEA license and current Controlled Substance License.
- USDA Category I Accreditation (or completion within two months of hire).
- Proficiency in anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine/feline spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during emotional or stressful situations.
