About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnostics, and preventive care.
  • Utilize a problem-based approach to develop differential diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Document all patient observations, findings, treatments, and client interactions accurately in medical records.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
  • Execute dental procedures, including full examinations, radiographs, and oral surgeries.
  • Manage day hospitalization patients and coordinate with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and disseminate medical knowledge to the hospital staff.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active state veterinarian licensure (or ability to obtain by start date).
  • Current DEA license and current Controlled Substance License.
  • USDA Category I Accreditation (or completion within two months of hire).
  • Proficiency in anesthesia and routine surgical procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in emotional or stressful situations.
