Associate User Experience Director

Responsibilities

• Oversee key studio projects, ensuring high-quality output and establishing effective ways of working for teams and clients.
• Liaise with senior stakeholders and C-suite clients to take briefs, challenge assumptions, and add strategic value.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams of 2 to 5 people from initial sketches and prototypes through to final design and delivery.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to gather business requirements and user needs, distilling them into actionable insights.
• Design and communicate complex ideas through diagrams, sketches, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
• Mentor and manage designers, supporting their professional growth and inspiring a collaborative team culture.
• Partner with development and QA teams to ensure product vision is maintained throughout the creation process.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working within leading digital design teams.
• A complex digital portfolio demonstrating work for global brands across mobile, tablet, and web channels (e.g., e-commerce, large CMS, or apps).
• Proven ability to think at a high level regarding product strategy and vision.
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools including Figma, Sketch, Invision, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
• Expertise in user research, testing, and the execution of digital and content strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain design rationale and persuade stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the public sector or on employee experience (EX) projects.
• A bias for action and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
