Associate Underwriter, Inland Marine

Responsibilities

• Select, analyze, and underwrite individual risks using corporate pricing and reinsurance techniques
• Manage a renewable book of homebuilder business, providing strategic guidance on rates, terms, and deductibles
• Monitor the overall book of business and recommend corrective actions to ensure the retention of desirable accounts
• Identify risk exposures, hazards, and appropriate controls through detailed risk assessment
• Perform financial and actuarial analysis to understand loss trends and quantify risk
• Collaborate with other Chubb divisions to identify cross-selling opportunities
• Participate in audits and underwriting meetings as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 3 years of current underwriting or insurance experience
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage a large book of renewal business and work collaboratively in a matrix environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry designations such as CPCU or AMIM
• Specific experience in Inland Marine products, including Builder's Risk or Homebuilders
