Associate Traffic Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in traffic engineering work, including operational and safety analyses, under the supervision of a licensed engineer
• Support data collection tasks under the guidance of experienced planners and engineers
• Assist in preparing planning reports, project documentation, and deliverables according to company standards
• Provide engineering support on various transportation projects and tasks as assigned
• Actively participate in personal career development by seeking feedback and pursuing new technical skills

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
• 0-3 years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and a self-motivated approach to work

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, co-op, or relevant professional experience in traffic or transportation engineering
• Familiarity with the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward obtaining it
