Associate Teaching Professor; Clinic Director - Low Income Taxpayer Clinic

Responsibilities

• Direct the operation of the Sherman F. Levey ’57, L’59 Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC)
• Teach the LITC Seminar and additional tax law courses in residential and online JD programs
• Supervise law students on existing client matters, providing detailed feedback and mentorship
• Participate with clinical faculty in the operation of the Office of Clinical Legal Education
• Prepare lectures, syllabi, projects, and other student assignments
• Maintain regular office hours and fulfill university committee service requirements
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Excellent academic record
• Demonstrated commitment to classroom teaching, student supervision, and mentoring
• Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community members from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced legal degrees
• Experience with judicial clerkships or relevant legal practice
• Litigation or administrative advocacy experience
• Proficiency with the use of AI tools in legal practice
• Prior teaching experience
• Interest in legal scholarship, particularly in the area of tax law

• Competitive salary range of $80,000 - $115,000 based on experience
