Associate System Admin

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and monitor batch job processes to ensure high operational uptime and adherence to SLAs.
• Manage data restoration and backup/recovery operations using IBM BRMS (System i).
• Execute tape management tasks, including physical and virtual tape setup, mounting, and dismounting.
• Perform hands-on operations using the iSeries command line via HMC.
• Manage offsite tape inventory and coordinate with third-party vendors like Iron Mountain.
• Maintain detailed activity and problem logs, ensuring thorough turnover between shifts.
• Coordinate with application, development, and Midrange Systems groups to resolve issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with IBM System iSeries (AS400) in a Datacenter Operator role.
• 2+ years of experience with IBM BRMS Tape Management.
• Hands-on experience with MIMIX or iCluster.
• Basic understanding of networking topology and protocols.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 shift rotation.
• Ability to work onsite at the office location.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Advanced Job Scheduler.
• Ability to develop shift schedules and delegate tasks to a team.
• Proven experience in managing third-party tape inventory and auditing invoices.
