About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications to perform structural modifications and repairs
- Execute sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving of structures in accordance with standard repair processes
- Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and replace parts as needed
- Maintain a safe working environment using Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag Out systems
- Access aircraft data via computer systems to initiate parts and discrepancy requests
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
- 4+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures
- 4+ years of experience using structural hand tools including drills, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, and rivet guns
- 4+ years of experience working with heavy structures such as doublers, stringers, webs, and seat tracks
- Ability to work variable shifts, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Ability to ascend/descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift approximately 35 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance, specifically F/A-18 or Depot Level maintenance
- Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment
