Associate Scientist/Scientist I, Bioconjugation

About the Company

Hexagon Bio leverages a genomics-based platform and understanding of natural product evolution to develop next-generation ADCs with novel payloads for cancer. We use data science, genomics, machine learning, synthetic biology, and automation to discover potent, evolutionarily refined small molecules from microbial genomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform antibody-drug conjugation at milligram scale using various linker chemistries and conjugation strategies
• Purify conjugated antibodies via FPLC-based methods (SEC, IEX, HIC) and diafiltration
• Optimize reaction conditions and monitor conjugation efficiency
• Execute analytical assays including SEC, HIC, IEX, RP-HPLC, UV-Vis, LC-MS DAR determination, and endotoxin testing
• Collaborate with cell biology teams to ensure materials meet criteria for potency and efficacy studies
• Maintain detailed electronic laboratory notebooks and comply with safety policies

Requirements

• Ph.D. with 0-2 years experience, Master’s with 3-5 years, or Bachelor’s with 6+ years in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Structural Biology
• Hands-on experience in protein sciences or related areas
• Direct experience with ADC conjugation, protein purification, or analytical characterization preferred
• Proficiency with HPLC-based analytical methods (SEC, IEX, HIC, RP-HPLC, UV-Vis)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
