Associate Scientist USP

Responsibilities

• Perform USP activities at laboratory scale
• Execute supporting tasks for lab readiness, process transfer, and analytical method transfer
• Conduct cell culture and analytical methods
• Support the introduction of new products
• Support planning and execution of laboratory scale-down model establishment and satellite studies
• Optimize USP processes, including supporting laboratory scale studies and analytical qualifications
• Accurately record performed work and results for team discussions
• Maintain a work attitude where safety and quality are priorities
• Perform additional tasks such as report writing and digitalization

Requirements

• Degree in biotechnology, microbiology, process technology, or life sciences (BSc with 3+ years experience or MSc with 1+ year experience)
• Affinity with laboratory work
• Technical expertise with biologics drug substance upstream and downstream activities
• Experience with cell culture
• Experience with small-scale benchtop bioreactors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
• Experience in or understanding of a GMP/regulated environment is a plus
• Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma or DOE techniques is a plus
