Associate Scientist, R&D

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute complex laboratory experiments to advance non-invasive prenatal test development
• Analyze experimental data using advanced analytical tools and troubleshoot laboratory processes
• Own and document technical workflows and summarize findings in research reports
• Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Laboratory Operations, Quality Assurance, and Automation Engineering
• Write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation for manufacturing transfer
• Train junior team members and operator teams on newly developed protocols

Requirements

• BA/BS with 6+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience in assay development and automation
• Experience in assay development and automation within the life sciences industry
• Track record of developing, optimizing, and validating manual and automated protocols
• Knowledge of nucleic acid extraction, PCR, NGS library preparation, and hybrid capture technologies
• Experience with high-throughput automated assays and liquid handler robotics
• Experience with design control studies including stability, reproducibility, and validation
• Experience operating within a regulated laboratory environment (CLIA, CAP, or FDA)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and scripting
• Liquid handler programming experience
