Associate Scientist II

Responsibilities

• Set up, optimize, and troubleshoot multi-step syntheses of protein-polysaccharide conjugates using click-chemistry and related chemistries
• Purify polysaccharides and conjugates using methods including dialysis, FPLC chromatography, and tangential flow filtration (TFF)
• Characterize protein/polysaccharide/conjugates using analytical methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, HPLC, and SEC-MALS
• Apply Design of Experiments (DoE) principles to design, execute, and interpret statistically modeled experiments
• Maintain highly organized records and Benchling entries to ensure reproducibility
• Analyze and communicate experimental data, identifying trends and recommending next steps
• Support routine laboratory activities, instrument maintenance, and vendor organization

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience (MS without experience is also accepted)
• Extensive hands-on experience in purification methods such as diafiltration, depth filters, and TFF
• Proficiency with analytical techniques including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, HPLC, and SEC-MALS
• Strong understanding of process development and analytical assay principles
• Proven track record of developing scalable processes suitable for the pharma/biotech industry
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior hands-on experience in conjugation process development
• Experience working with vaccines, carbohydrates, or proteins
