Associate Risk Manager/Project Director

Responsibilities

• Act as the risk management lead for high-value infrastructure projects and programmes
• Engage with project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure effective risk management implementation
• Provide direct risk management input to bids and proposals to secure new business
• Perform risk assurance checks to ensure the quality of project and programme risk management
• Communicate key project and programme risk management data to senior leaders
• Produce comprehensive risk reports to support informed decision-making
• Coach and mentor staff in risk management best practices
• Facilitate the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of risks
• Develop robust Risk Registers, Risk Management Plans, and Risk Mitigation Plans
• Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA and QSRA) using Monte-Carlo techniques
• Design and implement risk management frameworks for projects and programmes
• Support cost, scheduling, project controls, and change management teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or a professional risk management qualification (e.g., MOR, APM Risk, IRM)
• Proven experience in a multi-discipline project environment
• Proficiency in industry risk management tools such as ARM, Xactium, RiskHive, or Predict
• Demonstrable experience in conducting QCRA and QSRA using tools like Safran, Primavera Risk Analyser, or @risk
• Competency in implementing risk processes aligned with ISO31000, IRM, or APM methodologies
• Experience managing a team of risk professionals
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management
• Ability to travel and work across different sectors
