About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the risk management lead for high-value infrastructure projects and programmes
- Engage with project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure effective risk management implementation
- Provide direct risk management input to bids and proposals to secure new business
- Perform risk assurance checks to ensure the quality of project and programme risk management
- Communicate key project and programme risk management data to senior leaders
- Produce comprehensive risk reports to support informed decision-making
- Coach and mentor staff in risk management best practices
- Facilitate the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of risks
- Develop robust Risk Registers, Risk Management Plans, and Risk Mitigation Plans
- Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA and QSRA) using Monte-Carlo techniques
- Design and implement risk management frameworks for projects and programmes
- Support cost, scheduling, project controls, and change management teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or a professional risk management qualification (e.g., MOR, APM Risk, IRM)
- Proven experience in a multi-discipline project environment
- Proficiency in industry risk management tools such as ARM, Xactium, RiskHive, or Predict
- Demonstrable experience in conducting QCRA and QSRA using tools like Safran, Primavera Risk Analyser, or @risk
- Competency in implementing risk processes aligned with ISO31000, IRM, or APM methodologies
- Experience managing a team of risk professionals
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management
- Ability to travel and work across different sectors
