About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement an innovative platform, primarily in Python, for the development, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of portfolio engineering algorithms
- Maintain the Algo ecosystem using Python engineering principles to ensure alignment with business changes
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational processes using data analytics
- Integrate portfolio engineering algorithms into the BlackRock technology platform
- Collaborate with BlackRock technology teams to ensure tools are well-suited to Index Equity requirements
- Explore and utilize cutting-edge technologies, including AI, to enhance business efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Quantitative field
- Proficiency in Python (preferred) or Java with strong object-oriented programming skills
- Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile methodologies, version control, and CI/CD tools
- Knowledge of the Scientific Python stack and experience handling large datasets
- Strong mathematical and statistical processing skills to tackle complex problems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in investment management, trading, or finance-related fields
- Knowledge of equity risk models
