Associate, Project Finance – Financial Modelling

Responsibilities

• Support the development, auditing, and review of complex project finance models across Financial Advisory and lending mandates
• Work closely with Managing Directors and Directors to pitch for and arrange project finance transactions
• Assist with workflow related to Project Finance transactions, including credit papers, negotiation of financing terms, and due diligence coordination
• Prepare pitch packs, Information Memorandums, scope of works, and mandate letters connected to financial modelling workstreams
• Ensure new transactions comply with MUFG’s credit and internal policies
• Prepare credit proposals, run sensitivities, and manage the processing of credit approvals
• Assist in managing and instructing junior staff and handling general administration within the Project Finance team

Requirements

• 2–3 years of relevant industry experience (e.g., banking, advisory, Big 4, or modelling consultancy)
• Extensive financial modelling expertise, including model build, audit, optimisation, VBA, and best-practice design
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or Finance from a leading university
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence others
