About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active research agenda and fulfill committee service requirements
- Develop and update course syllabi in compliance with College of Law policies
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
- Conduct regularly scheduled office hours and meet all designated class periods
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
- Teach courses in both the residential law program and the online JD interactive program
- Build positive rapport with students, colleagues, and community members
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Excellent academic record
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in classroom teaching and scholarship
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of students and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees
- Judicial clerkships
- Relevant legal practice or similar professional experience
- Expertise in civil procedure, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), or contracts
- Interest in environmental law, torts, emerging technologies, or evidence
