Associate Professor of Law

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active research agenda and fulfill committee service requirements
• Develop and update course syllabi in compliance with College of Law policies
• Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
• Conduct regularly scheduled office hours and meet all designated class periods
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
• Teach courses in both the residential law program and the online JD interactive program
• Build positive rapport with students, colleagues, and community members

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
• Excellent academic record
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in classroom teaching and scholarship
• Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of students and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degrees
• Judicial clerkships
• Relevant legal practice or similar professional experience
• Expertise in civil procedure, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), or contracts
• Interest in environmental law, torts, emerging technologies, or evidence
