Associate Professor of Government

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in government, international relations, and national security
• Provide applied instruction informed by professional experience in intelligence, defense, and national security contexts
• Maintain the integrity of course and instructional programs
• Ensure alignment with the University’s mission and vision for the student experience
• Prepare students for careers in intelligence, defense, federal service, and national security sectors
• Model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University within a biblically informed Christian worldview

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Government, Intelligence Studies, National Security, Political Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in a relevant discipline
• Significant professional experience in national security, intelligence, military, or related government service
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in American government, international relations, or national security
• Evidence of effective teaching or instructional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience in national security, intelligence, or military operations
• Demonstrated professional network within intelligence or defense communities
• Experience mentoring students toward intelligence or national security careers
• Ability to integrate real-world operational insight into teaching
• Experience teaching high-enrollment or general education courses
• Ability to connect course content to current geopolitical developments
