About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach upper-division undergraduate courses in public policy, governance, and related fields
- Provide instruction in policy analysis, research design, and data-informed decision-making
- Mentor students in applied policy research and substantial research projects
- Support capstone and senior seminar experiences
- Contribute to curriculum development and maintain the integrity of instructional programs
- Incorporate real-world policy contexts into instruction to prepare students for professional careers
- Model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University within a Christian worldview
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated expertise in public policy analysis and applied research methods
- Experience teaching upper-division undergraduate courses involving research design or data interpretation
- Ability to mentor students in research or policy analysis projects
- Evidence of effective university-level teaching and ongoing scholarly engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong quantitative research skills, including statistical or data analysis for policy evaluation
- Proficiency with tools such as R, Stata, SPSS, or similar software
- Professional experience in legislative, executive, or policy environments
- Experience integrating real-world datasets and case studies into coursework
- Record of applied or public-facing scholarship
- Experience teaching in high-enrollment environments
