Associate Professor of Government and Public Policy

Responsibilities

• Teach upper-division undergraduate courses in public policy, governance, and related fields
• Provide instruction in policy analysis, research design, and data-informed decision-making
• Mentor students in applied policy research and substantial research projects
• Support capstone and senior seminar experiences
• Contribute to curriculum development and maintain the integrity of instructional programs
• Incorporate real-world policy contexts into instruction to prepare students for professional careers
• Model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University within a Christian worldview

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Demonstrated expertise in public policy analysis and applied research methods
• Experience teaching upper-division undergraduate courses involving research design or data interpretation
• Ability to mentor students in research or policy analysis projects
• Evidence of effective university-level teaching and ongoing scholarly engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong quantitative research skills, including statistical or data analysis for policy evaluation
• Proficiency with tools such as R, Stata, SPSS, or similar software
• Professional experience in legislative, executive, or policy environments
• Experience integrating real-world datasets and case studies into coursework
• Record of applied or public-facing scholarship
• Experience teaching in high-enrollment environments
