Associate Professor of Business and Department Chair

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic leadership and vision for all Business Department programs, including undergraduate and online majors.
• Lead curriculum development, program review, and assessment to ensure alignment with industry trends and institutional goals.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate full-time and part-time faculty to support professional growth and teaching excellence.
• Manage the departmental budget and oversee course scheduling to support student progression.
• Teach a reduced load of undergraduate courses using student-centered, high-impact instructional methods.
• Develop and sustain external partnerships with employers, alumni, and community colleges to expand career pathways and transfer opportunities.
• Advise and mentor students to foster engagement, belonging, and career readiness.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Academic credentials appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.
• At least two years of progressively responsible academic leadership or coordination experience.
• Proven experience with curriculum development and assessment in business-related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to support an inclusive, student-centered culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Business Administration or a closely related field.
• Prior experience as a department chair or program director.
• Experience teaching in both face-to-face and online modalities.
• Experience developing community college transfer pathways or articulation agreements.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with employers and advisory boards to support experiential learning.
