About the role

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate large group lectures and small group lab sessions of dissection-based medical gross anatomy.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of anatomy laboratory sessions within LMU-DCOM.
  • Teach within the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, and PhD in Anatomy Education programs.
  • Provide instruction in histology, neuroanatomy, and embryology as required.
  • Mentor graduate and medical students and participate in departmental and institutional service.
  • Prepare examination questions and manage course grading.

Requirements

  • PhD in Anatomical Sciences or a related field.
  • Experience in health professions education.
  • Experience with whole-body donor dissection-based labs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing evidence-based pedagogies and strategies to increase student engagement and inclusivity.
  • Ability or interest in contributing to embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy courses.
  • An active research program with the capacity to include graduate and medical students.
  • Research expertise in anatomy education, clinical anatomy, biological anthropology, or vertebrate paleontology.
