About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security across the full lifecycle by refining system requirements, architectures, and designs.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to define cybersecurity requirements, artifacts, and solutions.
- Conduct security assessments including threat analyses, risk assessments, and audits to identify vulnerabilities and track mitigations.
- Advise stakeholders on assessment results and provide actionable recommendations to improve architecture and software assurance.
- Implement product security standards and controls to meet regulatory requirements such as JSIG, DoD RMF, and NISPOM.
- Support cyber test and validation activities, including tabletop exercises and verification of security controls.
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers to execute assigned cybersecurity work products in a teaming environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
- 1+ years of experience working within the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- 1+ years of experience in the development, integration, validation, and verification of cybersecurity systems.
- 1+ years of technical experience in aircraft, mission systems, or training solutions.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.
- Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+) within 6 months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vulnerability scanning, mitigation, and system hardening on multiple operating systems.
- Experience in systems/product security engineering for avionics.
- Experience performing threat analysis and security risk assessments.
- Knowledge of higher-order programming languages (C/C++, Ada, etc.) and secure code practices.
- Experience with Program Protection, Software Assurance, or Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) practices.
