Associate Producer

Responsibilities

• Generate, plan, and develop ideas for newscasts, including local and national stories, newsbreaks, and teasers
• Lead news meetings, generate story ideas, and dispatch news crews and reporters
• Oversee the on-air look of news broadcasts to ensure compliance with station policies
• Prepare newscast rundowns and supervise the writing and pre-production of all elements, including anchor-read stories and reporter tracks
• Line produce and back-time newscasts while on the air
• Create and execute original stories for show development and sweeps projects
• Act as a liaison between the news director, producers, photographers, and field reporters
• Create digital content and manage social media presence to engage audiences

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of experience as a News Producer
• Full fluency in Spanish (both written and spoken) is required
• Proven experience in digital content creation and social media management
• Strong knowledge of Latino community demographics, specifically in the Arizona area
• Excellent editorial judgment and a strong sense of journalistic ethics
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Proficiency with newsroom operations, electronic news-gathering (ENG), and iNews systems
